Medical School Transcript Ocularist: The fellow is scheduled with the ocularist service one afternoon per quarter where three ocularists participate in the instruction. Very high expectations for performance are balanced by a supportive and collegial environment. UW Ophthalmic Facial Plastics Fellows are energetic and actively generate publications and chapters during Fellowship. Our program is a recognized American Society of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) fellowship and starts on odd calendar years. The ocularist gives our fellow a specialized prosthetic matched to their eye after the rotation. The Fellowship begins with an intense exposure to ophthalmic facial plastic surgery. It is a two year . Patients are staffed simultaneously in many clinics. specializing in the face, orbits, eyelids and lacrimal system. Rotation to a different oculoplastic center in Mexico or to another part of the world is possible after 6 weeks in the fellowship program. Training covers all areas of Oculofacial Surgery, from skull base to cosmetic surgery. Multiple floors are dedicated to non-clinical academic pursuits and contain several thousand feet of laboratory space.
